When Margot Robbie took the stage at CinemaCon in the spring and revealed that Danny Ocean’s parents would pull off “an epic heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix,” it was reasonable to wonder whether the film would ever actually make it to cameras. By that point, the Ocean’s Eleven prequel had already spent four years in development. It was announced in May 2022 with Jay Roach set to direct and Ryan Gosling initially attached.
