When it comes to the biggest sci-fi franchises in the world, few names carry as much weight as Alien. Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott kicked off the Alien franchise all the way back in the 1970s, and he remains involved in the latest projects to come out of the franchise, like Alien: Earth, the first ever Alien TV show. Noah Hawley (Fargo) wrote and created Alien: Earth for TV, but the show is produced by Ridley Scott. Scott also produced the franchise’s last movie, 2024’s Alien: Romulus, which was directed by iconic horror helmer Fede Álvarez. Álvarez has confirmed that he will not return to direct the sequel to Alien: Romulus in the works at 20th Century Studios, but he and Scott are working closely to find the perfect director for the film.
