When we seek out science fiction stories, we tend to think of sensational space operas, tantalizing time travel, and amazing depictions of artificial intelligence. Often, they go beyond reality, but sometimes they are so deeply rooted in hard science fiction that it makes the story seem far too plausible. In turn, they can become quite intense.
