It’s never been a better time to be an X-Men fan. Not only will the mighty mutants play a role in Avengers: Doomsdayand take center stage in the upcoming comic crossover DNX, but Marvel Studios is releasing an X-Men reboot in 2028. Once the cast was announced at D23, reactions were all over the board: some fans loved the choices and the fact that Thunderbolts*director Jake Schreier would be helming the X-Men reboot, while others are locked in debate over whether Inde Navarrette is the right choice for Rogue. Those fans have missed a key point about the X-Men reboot: this franchise deserves television spinoffs.
