A lot of movies don’t meet the reception or the audience reaction they deserve, and they take time to get some well-earned praise. This is a film that needed a few decades. It was initially dismissed by plenty of critics as a dumb action blockbuster about beautiful people shooting enormous bugs, only to undergo one of the most dramatic critical reassessments of its era. And now, it’s back in people’s minds for all the right reasons.
