Poison frontman Bret Michaels has canceled the rest of his tour after a “comeback” performance that was supposed to mark his return following emergency surgery. The 63-year-old rocker took the stage in Georgia on Friday, roughly a month after he shared that he was rushed to a hospital for surgery to remove a kidney stone that would not pass on its own. But Michaels’ comeback was short-lived. A statement posted to his Facebook page on Saturday announced that “doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries.” Michaels’ doctors, Dr. Abby Borhan and Dr. Patel, said, “We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being. He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead, especially considering the heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect it can have on his blood sugar levels.” The rocker has endured major health scares before, including a 2010 brain hemorrhage followed by a procedure to repair a hole in his heart, according to Fox News.
